The Fourth Capacity-Building Program for Managers of Science and Technology Parks, focusing on innovation development, human capital, and professional governance, was held over two days on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026, at the Yazd Science and Technology Park.
The event brought together managers, policymakers, and key stakeholders of Iran’s science, technology, and innovation ecosystem. It was organized by the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, with the support of the Ministry of Science’s Vice-Presidency for Technology and Innovation, and the Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubators and Science Parks Development (IRIS) under the auspices of UNESCO.
The program emphasized the strategic role of Science and Technology Parks in linking universities to markets, fostering the knowledge-based economy, and ensuring effective management of the innovation ecosystem. Speakers, including STP managers, officials from the Ministry of Science, and representatives of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, addressed key topics such as completing the idea-to-market cycle, the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law, development of markets for high-tech products, innovation financing, and strengthening support infrastructures.
Another major theme of the event was the evolving role of Science and Technology Parks, from being merely hosting spaces for companies to becoming innovation networks and districts. The importance of networking interactions, collective learning, and the formation of regional value chains was highlighted. Sessions also underscored the need to focus on “future literacy,” sustainable revenue models, and aligning parks with the requirements of next-generation innovation ecosystems.
On the second day, discussions focused on human resource management, meritocracy, and the critical role of human capital in the success of Science and Technology Parks. Participants also examined the need to revise admission and evaluation structures, strengthen commercialization mechanisms, and enhance branding strategies. In addition to expert panels, the program featured experience-sharing sessions by representatives of technology-based companies.
This program was implemented as part of a national initiative aimed at enhancing the managerial and professional capabilities of Science and Technology Park leaders and strengthening their role in the development and advancement of Iran’s science and technology ecosystem.
