IT Services

All research centers in ISTT are connected to each other on-line as intranet through LAN network and with Multi-media facilities. Other facilities at this section include:

•  Providing services and consultation via the web
•  The ftp site for intranet communications
•  Providing software and hardware technical and consultation services

 

Library Services:

Through its contact with other libraries in the region, the ISTT library provides the following services to its tenant companies:

Borrowing books, scientific papers, and information sources, purchasing standard data banks, membership in inter-library projects, access to mechanized registration and order systems

 

Training Services:

The support services department in ISTT frequently holds training courses in order to improve the managerial skill set of its managers, to enhance the competitiveness of its tenant companies in target markets, and to familiarize its managers with financial, tax, labor, and insurance regulations. The fields in which these courses are held, are:

Laboratories

Specialized support and the availability of technical laboratorial facilities is the necessity of scientific and practical research. Many research institutions and individual researchers are completely dependent on research equipment and the accessibility to laboratorial instruments.

The technical and specialized section of ISTT puts the development of its group of modern laboratories which are required in the region, high on its priority agenda. In this case, it is expected that the investment placed will be able to increase the dynamism of companies, and also help in the acceleration of the development of scientific and laboratorial methods undertaken to yield the desired research objectives of newly-established institutions and private companies. ISTT laboratories have been commissioned to help companies choose and prepare their raw materials, and also assist in the manufacturing and calibration process, to test and help in the assessment of products and potential processes as well as assuring the success of new ideas.

The policy of the technical and specialized section of ISTT is not to invest on advanced equipment and systems that are already available in the nearby universities and regional research and educational centers, but to create synergy and to encourage cooperation among science parks, companies, universities and research centers.

 

Specialized laboratories:

ISTT specialized laboratories and technical facilities are built to conduct the practical research needed by institutions and companies to help the process of acquisition and transference of knowledge and new technologies, to assist in the assessment and evaluation of value-added products, to increase industrial productivity and to facilitate industrial sections to operate in a modern manner.

The main duties and responsibilities of the technical team within ISTT include:

• Providing industrial and laboratorial facilities with the highest rate of productivity to the tenant technology companies as per their requirement.
• Providing a suitable platform for the laboratorial practices of institutions or private companies.
• Accelerating the process of acquiring laboratorial facilities for applicants.
• Attempt to optimize the use of available resources and increase its productivity via the acquirement of new facilities.
• The laboratories complex is open to public. All institutions residing in ISTT, other private and state companies and institutions, and university researchers are welcomed to benefit from these laboratories.

Investment Opportunities

One of the high value-added services that the Technology Transfer Department of ISTT is occupied with is the recognition and absorption of investors to participate in the process of technology development, industrial production, and the expansion of knowledge-based companies in ISTT to different markets. Since 2005, this office has succeeded to sign various investment and cooperative contracts.

ISTT various services in this area are:

Intellectual Property

Special attention is given to the process of commercializing the results attained from modern research projects and their innovations, and also in order to protect the intellectual achievements yielded in ISTT. The special processes which inventors and innovators generally require are needed for acquiring Patents and protecting their intellectual property.

ISTT services in this area include:

Providing consultation and specialized research in the field of intellectual property rights.

Providing consultation on acquiring patents from abroad.

• Evaluation and expert assessments on patents referred from industrial property registration office.
• Holding workshops and seminars related to intellectual property.
• Holding workshops and seminars on technology valuation and commercialization.

 

Technology Valuation

Technical Know-how is categorized as an intangible property. Its valuation is required in cases such as the sale of Technical Know-how, partnership with investors, transfer of shares, etc.

ISTT as per the request of its tenant knowledge-based companies has paid much attention to technology valuation in a scientific and experimental manner. The valuations- which have taken place in ISTT- so far have been used in knowledge sales and in attaining various investments.

The process of technology valuation begins with the technology owner’s request and upon their delivering of the company’s technical and economic information. Afterwards, a group of field experts will review and assess the request. If the innovation is approved, they will then determine the base price via a combination of cost, revenue and marketing methods. At the last stage, the innovation will be registered by ISTT’s valuation committee. 

Public Relations Office

ISTT’s public relations employees act in line to the town developmental goals and in consistency with the mission of macro management for the development of Isfahan Science and Technology Town. This department focuses all its efforts to maintaining the town’s status and dignity, defending its ideals and activities, informing the public of the different performances of the town, and in general enlightening the public opinion.

The main activities of this department are:

• Planning, implementing different Policies and the use of appropriate methods to reflect the vision, objectives, activities, and plans of ISTT and tenant technology units to audiences and Medias.
• Collecting, summarizing and analyzing the various viewpoints and opinions of audiences and Medias about ISTT’s performance in different fields, and relaying them to the governmental board of ISTT.
• Connecting with other private and state public relations agencies in order to better introduce ISTT and the achievements of its tenant technology units.
• The Introduction and promotion of ISTT as a social and responsible organization in technological affairs.
• The transference of ISTT’s message to society with the use of its mass media capabilities.
• Cooperation in organizing festivals, conferences, seminars and training workshops, etc.

Introducing ISTT companies’ achievements and technologies to different entities including industries, media, etc.

 

International and Scientific Cooperation Department

International and Scientific Cooperation Office is one of the administrative sections of ISTT that is under direct supervision of ISTT president, and works closely with ISTT’s vice president in the pursuit of technology development. The office of International and Scientific Cooperation has the responsibility to reach out and communicate with other science and technology parks and international organizations. In this regard, this office mainly communicates with international associations of science parks, United Nation’s Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), foreign science and technology parks, Banks and financial institutions and Science and Technology Parks Associations.

The promotion of the international relations of ISTT’s science and technology park, and its tenant companies are among the agendas of ISTT’s International and Scientific Cooperation Office.

Amongst other services, this department also provides the service of the seeking out of investors, venture capitals and project partners for the park as well as for tenant companies.

Besides such activities, the international affairs Department constantly follows up on these activities:

• Pursuing all ISTT membership in international organizations including IASP, ASPA.
• Establishing relations with UNESCO, and other international organizations.
• Providing services in the field of international relations to tenant companies.
• Helping ISTT staff to attend international events and present papers.
• Maintaining all international communications and correspondence to date.
• Following up and corresponding on all international affairs in relation to the Sheikh Bahai festival.
• Inviting internationally renowned lecturers to conduct training workshops.
